Heat and Extreme UV Levels in Singapore

It is very hot in Singapore now. The intensity of the sun is so high that as the day progresses, the level of ultraviolet rays (UV Index) also reaches extreme levels.

In such weather, the public has been asked to take extra precautions to stay away from the sun.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) recommends using more sunscreen than necessary and using an umbrella or hat when out in the sun.

Generally, a UV Index of 8 to 10 is considered very intense. And 11 or more is dangerous.

In such a situation, there is a risk of skin damage. According to NEA’s website, the higher the level of UV rays, the greater the potential for skin and eye damage.

On March 27, at 2 pm, the temperature in Singapore was between 31.1°C and 35.7°C.
